Wei Hang obtained his PhD in Analytical Chemistry at Xiamen University and was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Florida and the Los Alamos National Laboratory. In 2005 he joined the Chemistry Department at Xiamen University as a Professor. His work covers a range of topics, from fundamental studies on plasma sources, such as laser ablation and  ionization, glow discharge, and thermal ionization, to the development of mass spectrometric instrumentations.
